Welcome to the House of Comens. Soyez les bienvenus.
— Paul Passchen
Know though that you shall have contravened my right
To live out my days in the way that I choose.
Of course, you’ll use stealth. I’ll have no sight
Of your craft, since I’m now married to the booze.
— Ian Comens

The House of Comens comes to the stage,

And we begin to get a taste

Of what will become an enduring

Conflict between the rival ruling

Individuals, Paul and Évette,

Neither of whom is prepared to let

The other have overall domination

Of a veritable national institution.

Here though, an unwanted guest

Puts all – staff and clients – on edge,

Compounding their primeval fears,

Though perhaps he is not quite as he appears.

And then, what on Earth were they thinking

Really, with all that excessive drinking?

Well, in the end, we sincerely hope you may

Laugh, cry, gasp, and enthusiastically applaud our play.

Réponds-lui, Tonton.
Pourquoi tu ne montres pas à tout le monde
Comment nous allons vaincre ce con?
— Béatrice Ngom
Good night, sweet prince, now hath bestowed
This very day everything that I was owed.
— Évette Martin
